Frequently asked questions
I'm getting a new phone. How do I take my data with me?
Your data is on your iPhone and is included in your iCloud backup, if that is on. Restore your new phone from that backup and Revly is back with all your cars. To be sure, first make an export via Profile > Settings > Data & privacy > Export my data.
Why doesn't a trip count straight away?
Your phone doesn't know whether you were driving, or whether you were a passenger or on the train. That's why Revly asks after every trip whether you were the driver, and in which car. Only then does your odometer go up.
No trips are being measured.
Check in Profile > Trips that Track trips automatically is on. Then open your iPhone's Settings app, go to Revly > Location and choose Always, with Precise Location on. Also turn on Motion & Fitness. Without those permissions, Revly only measures while the app is open. Don't swipe Revly away in the app switcher, otherwise iOS can't wake the app. In Profile > Settings > Data & privacy > Trip log you can see exactly what Revly did and why.
Does tracking trips use a lot of battery?
A little. Between trips Revly keeps an eye on your location, so a trip starts as soon as you drive off. When you stand still, iOS pauses this automatically. Full GPS is only on during a trip. In your iPhone's Settings app, under Battery, you can see how much Revly uses.
Why is my maintenance "unknown"?
When you add a car, Revly doesn't yet know when, for example, the oil was last changed. Instead of guessing, we ask you. Fill it in under Maintenance > Complete your maintenance, or choose Don't know, have it checked.
Can I turn off certain notifications?
Yes. In Profile > Settings > Notifications you choose per type what you receive, such as inspection, maintenance, seasonal tips or milestones, and at what time.
What is Revly Plus?
Your first car is free, with everything included: maintenance, reminders, inspection alerts, fuel use, trips and the car passport. Following your previous cars is always free too. Revly Plus adds:
- Keeping track of multiple cars
- Scanning receipts and garage invoices, including PDFs, so the amount, date and garage are filled in for you
- Cost insights: compare years, a forecast for next year and the real costs including depreciation
- A fuel use alert when your car suddenly uses more
- Exporting all your costs to Excel
- A business trip log
- Your own colour for the app
How do I scan a receipt or invoice?
When you log fuel or charging, tap Camera or Photo or screenshot at the top. For maintenance, choose Scan invoice with camera, a photo, or Choose PDF from Files at the bottom. Revly fills in what it can read. If something is wrong, just change it. The reading happens on your iPhone. Without Plus you can still keep the photo or PDF.
How do I create a trip log?
Turn on Profile > Trips > Keep track of business trips. Swipe a trip to the right in the trip list to mark it business or private, or open the trip to add a description. Use Export at the top right of the trip list, pick the year, and you get an Excel file for the tax authorities or your employer.
Always check the export yourself before you hand it in. Revly helps you keep track of your trips, but it is not a system approved by the tax authorities. You remain responsible for a complete and accurate record.
Which iPhone do I need?
Revly works on iPhones with iOS 26 or later. Scanning with the camera works on any iPhone with a camera.
How do I cancel Revly Plus?
Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name at the top, choose Subscriptions and then Revly Plus. You keep Plus until the end of the period you have already paid for.
I have a new phone and my Plus is gone.
In Revly, open Profile > Revly Plus and tap Restore purchases. Use the same Apple ID you bought Plus with.
How do I delete all my data?
Via Profile > Settings > Data & privacy > Delete everything. Because Revly has no server, your data is then nowhere. An active subscription is cancelled separately via your Apple ID.
